Clash of the Titans - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-10-2009 It's time to have a WTF forum for all of these posts. They are remaking Clash of the Titans? Why? They are using Big Name starts. Will that help? I hope they use the same script and effect house as the original. Maybe Harry Hamlin can come back for a cameo. Maybe they could use their money on something original? Quote:Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes will play warring gods in Clash of the Titans, the remake of the Greek-god epic to be directed by Louis Leterrier, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Clash of the Titans" - The Queen - 03-25-2010 Greg and I will be attending the red carpet premier at Grauman's next Wednesday, courtesy our friends at KROQ. Gosh I love incredibly simple trivia contests! Release the KRAKEN!!! - Drunk Monk - 03-26-2010 That's really the only scene I want to see - the Kraken in 3D. Very cool. We expect pix. Greg in a tux and TQ in an evening gown. Sounds very fun. Re: "Clash of the Titans" - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 03-26-2010 Pics sure. Tux, probably not. It's a KROQ premiere. I'll probably have on shorts and a T-shirt. no evening gown? - Drunk Monk - 03-26-2010 after the cubs bikini disappointment, how can we go on? ![]() How about the Oscar dress? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 03-26-2010 Maybe you didn't see this on her Facebook when she went to the Oscars? Isn't it creepy to take risque pictures of your SO to show to your friends? Or is that just me? ![]() It's just you, greg - Drunk Monk - 04-01-2010 But we've known each other for years and we understand. So, how was the Kraken? I think I already saw this film in 2D. No one tops Uma as Medusa. Re: "Clash of the Titans" - The Queen - 04-01-2010 I think 2D would have been better. Maybe it was the too-close, too-off-center seats we were given, but I think the 3D for this film sucked. I have a hard enough time with too-close close ups during action sequences; doing that with 3D just plain blew. Liam not as frightfully bad as I'd feared (I was afraid that we'd get "Darkman" Liam). I think the director must have told Ralph to channel Christian Bale's Batman or Clint Eastwood - the hoarse Hades didn't work for me. The script was pretty awful -- everything was a pronouncement, as though every line was meant to be memorable. Oy. Oh and the costume designer ought to be shot and left to bleed to death. But that said - it had a few very (intentionally) funny moments, I think Sam did as good a job as could be done with the character and the script, and it wasn't anywhere near as awful as I anticipated it might be. But I'm wondering - why was this Pegasus black??? What the Queen said - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-01-2010 This film was made to be 3-D, it was just added in after the success of Avatar. As Cameron has pointed out his film works because he designed it to be in 3-D. I'm sure there was a lot of great cinemetography in this film, some of the set pieces did look stunning, but the 3-d gave it kind of a murky feel. The story was awkward. Sam Worthington only has the one note and you've seen it in Terminator: Salvation and oddly Avatar. He is the luckiest Ossie on the planet. It was good to see Fiennes and Neeson back together again. And battling again too. Does Ralph have to act evil in Neeson's presence? We should have sat farther back but we had assigned seats. Unless you read the credits, you wouldn't know it was Uma. And I'm only taking DM's word on this because, we didn't stay for the credits. As for pictures, well. I took one. It was while we waited in line across the street from the theater. While we were in line, I was told to run back to my car and put the camera away. Too bad my car was in a parking lot near the house. We actually took the subway to the theater. This got a lot of confused looks when I said it to security. I figured I would just keep the camera in my pocket and no one would be the wiser. Unless of course they have walk through metal detectors. Again, I was told to put the camera in my car. Again, I received the strange looks. The took the camera and my driver's license and locked it in a case. When I went to retrieve the camera at the end of the night, the case had been removed and my camera and license were lying on the floor. No worries mate. As for the whole experience the Red Carpet premiere deal, well, they brought us in early through a side door well away from the tented Red Carpet area. We waited in the auditorium for over an hour for the show. Constant scans of the audience only showed Neil Patrick Harris in the audience. And tiny man, Richard Zanuck. The people in front of us were excited they had seen Steve Carell. But that was about it for star sightings. My plan was for them to parade down the aisles in front of us so we could all do a scorecard of who we had seen. For some reason, this did not happen. On the subway home, we were entertained by some very inebriated or stoned characters. This will not put me off from riding the subway again. One More thing - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-01-2010 Le Chiffre is in this film. I was very excited to get that pull because he looks nothing like he did in Casino Royale. No blood from the eyes. No inhaler. And he's buff. It's the voice that gives him away. Thanks, I'll pass - Drunk Monk - 04-01-2010 I'll just hold on to my dear memories of the Harryhausen version. I was referring to Uma in P.J. http://brotherhoodofdoom.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1934 Based on tq&greg's review, I'm now thinking that was the superior film. Re: "Clash of the Titans" - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-01-2010 Ah, confusion lifted. Medusa was totally CGI in Clash and was unrecognizable as Uma. And since she wasn't UMA it's good that she didn't like Uma. Did I mention I was reading the Tao Te Ching while waiting for the movie to start. I am now writing posts by not writing them. CotT & PJ would make a fine double feature - Drunk Monk - 04-01-2010 Perseus. Of all the Greek demigods for 2010... Re: "Clash of the Titans" - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-02-2010 Mads Mikkelson (LeChiffre) was a professional dancer for many years before acting co-opted him. Re: "Clash of the Titans" - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-02-2010 Why couldn't I have a cool name like "Mads"? |
