Jim Belushi loves Maggimoto Castle! - El Dingo - 12-21-2005

Apparently, the movie "The Principal" with Jim Belushi was filmed in the building across the street.

Our house was Jim Belushi's house for the interior shots.

I grow all wobbly thinking John Belushi's brother was in MY house!

UPDATE: OK So it wasn't Jim Belushi's house, it was the home of a teacher he had the hots for. Works for me.

I bought the DVD. If any screenshots jump out at me I'll post them.

This is the scary high school (now Children's Hospital Research Institute) across the street from our house:

This is our entryway. See the brilliant cinematography? They come from 2 different worlds, and 2 different rooms.

That's the kitchen we all hung out in! The linoleum is the same, so some of you have walked in the footsteps of Jim Belushi!

She's standing where our TV is. I guess she didn't have a TV.

Bumping to call attention to the cool screenshots.

Just think there might still be some Jim Belushis germs still floating through the air.

wow - Drunk Monk - 01-03-2006

i guess we'll have to watch that film in your house someday. or not.

OK, I got one - Drunk Monk - 01-28-2006

Tara goes to Peninsula School in Menlo Park. It's a private progressive school that all my money goes to now (see http://www.peninsulaschool.org/). I've often refered to it as being like Hogwarts. Turns out I wasn't too far off. Turns out it was used for the set of Escape to Witch Mountain. It's even mentined in IMDB (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072951/trivia) but incorrectly. It was not an orphanage. It's been a private school since 1925, so the kids weren't 'real orphans,' they were students. We've already seen IMDB flaws, so that's not a surprise. So does Donald Pleasance germs at my kid's school beat Jim Belushi's germs at ED's home? No? Oh well, it was worth mentioning nevertheless.

Cleo as underdog - Drunk Monk - 12-14-2006

Jim Belushi is in it. It could work.

No.

Underdog - Drunk Monk - 12-29-2007

underdog is voiced by jason lee, so i keep thinking he's going to start talking about karma. it doesn't quite work. jim is barely in the movie - he's ashamed. he's trying not to be seen. it touches on many of the standards of the show but in obtuse and almost annoying ways. it was good to see patrick warburton in the flesh - he's a great hammy voice (kronk was his masterpiece) and he looks the role too. there's a satire of reeves/kidderConfuseduperman/lois flight done wiht dogs. they missed on bar sinister - missed so bad that it's agony.

t liked it. she's a sucker for talking animals.
mrs. dm was irked at yet another motherless disney flick.
dm has seen it twice now. no really. saw it with t at home and the next day there was a scheduling issue so she spent some time watching underdog and i love lucy at the office. it really confuses my coworkers since i work in an office shared by three others. i also get to reply to hk and provide some closure on this horrid affair.

You know... - Haggis Killer - 12-30-2007

There's really no need to torture yourself this way just to prove me right about such an abomination.

Funny, the Chipmunk movie has Jason Lee in it, too. Can't he find other work?

I was fated to see it. - Drunk Monk - 12-30-2007

I'm fated to see Alvin too.

I enjoy Lee in Earl.

More ah Lee - scapino - 12-31-2007

Let us not forget Jason Lee's best voice over roll, the villan in The Incredibles!

Alvin and the Chipmunks - Drunk Monk - 01-07-2008

Helium-voiced animated chipmunks singing pop songs - after 50 years, it still works. Jason Lee is the same as ever - somewhat serviceable as Dave, once you get past his impossibly pointy nose. He's still best as Earl and should remain so. It's a decent update, as updates go. Very predictable, very fomulaic.

T loved it. She's the exact demographic for this type of film. Dm thought it odd to see a new xmas film after xmas.

More on Peninsula school - Drunk Monk - 04-27-2012

This is one of many reasons why I send my kid there.
