common for pups. kinda common for pets in general. some meds should take care of it quickly.
he had the runs for most of week #1. we controlled his food, added pumpkin, and that issue is now solidified. but now the worms. picking up puppy poop again, an odious task made more unpleasant due to the parasites. life with dogs.
today he started chewing cables. i covered all the exposed cables with peppermint oil - that and tea tree oil has made a decent retardant. we also gave him a bone filled with peanut butter. but he's a gnawer for pretty much everything in site. he's been chewing rocks. makes me wonder how dogs survive in the wild.

Took Yuki to the beach today. His first time seeing the sea. It was so fun. He can really run. It'll be tough to keep up with him after he gets his legs under him.

If you are waiting for that good nights sleep once Yuki settles down for the night, just know that Maeve spent the night barking at coyotes outside our bedroom window. Fortunately, the windows were open to catch some nice breezes.

When Hazel was a puppy I remember thinking that it was surprising that dogs weren't extinct because puppies will put anything in their mouths.
She had worms twice as a puppy. Pinworms once (I think she had them when we got her) and tapeworms once.

Dammit. Yuki chewed through our AV wires for our DVD player. We rebooted our set up several times until we noticed - chewed through all three - red, white & yellow. Those were the thinnest. The rest are thick power cables or hdmi. Better not chew those. We’ve moved them higher.
We both have wicked bites. Stacy has a shirt and a pair of pants that now have holes. Yuki is all fangs, tiny sharp fangs.

LCF's sister once had a lop-eared rabbit. It was big and fluffy, and was always hopping around, because, well, a rabbit. But then it died.
Chewing into a power cord.
Yeah, might be wise to keep those cords out of reach.

Maeve or Dani were kind of enough to pull out my remote speaker wires back at Lynch Manor.
The chewing was a constant battle. You had to be constantly on your guard that you didn't leave something within reach of the shredders. And jut when you thought it was safe, you'd find your new hardback book in tatters.

I remember the chewing well. And the razor sharp puppy teeth. She never went for cords though. Not missing that, although I do miss some of the puppy enthusiasm, which is long gone here.
I once worked with a woman who had a bad scar on her upper lip that she got from biting into a lamp cord as a small child. The only such human injury I've ever heard of.

Yuki found the bottom shelf of Stacy's books and nibbled her Guide to Monkeys Chimpanzees and Other Primates. He also took a bite out of her Seals of the World. He's nappn now ... restin up for the next vicious attack.
I need to get new AV cables today, plus a new easy-to-use mini flashlight for my mom. The twist one she's using is old and finicky and she's been having troubles with it due to her arthritis.
Puppy enthusiasm is pretty magical. Enjoying that part for sure.
