Another funny story. The cable failed during round four and the sound was all unusable again. Still more fuckups by the actor. At this point the tQ was begging for a meal break but I pushed for one more go around. We did more stumbling takes but eventually finished.
All told, the bad actor did over 80 takes. tQ seems to think I should put together an outtake reel for everyone's amusement.

Just realized some potential awkwardness. The Coney Island Film Festival announces on Friday. I don't hold out much hope since I have heard nothing from them. But there festival is on at the same time as Burbank IFF.
In the beforetime, this wouldn't have mattered. One was on one coast and the other was on the other coast. But if the film is online for BIFF and can be seen anywhere, that presents competition between the two festivals. We shall see. Coney Island also hasn't said how they are going to address screenings during the pandemic. But if they have an in person festival and I'm accepted, I'm going. That is if New York allows travelers from CA to enter NY.
Fun! Good times! Coney Island is also held in an old Sideshow Theater.

Funny story. As you all know I'm in the land where wifi doesn't really exist and upload speeds are measured in kilobytes. So, when it came time to upload my film to BIFF, I figured to do it with the people that made my Digital Cinema Package. Yeah. They are having a hell of a time with the link to me, just like me. For me it would open on Safari and then it wouldn't. I used Chrome and it worked.
I sent the link to SimpleDCP and figure I was finally done. I got a note from them yesterday saying they couldn't open the link. I sent them a new link. And never heard from them. But later that night I checked on the Festival Site and they said thank you for submitting the film. I figured I was done.
I just received the email from Simple DCP saying they couldn't get into the site to upload.
Sigh. More back and forth emails. I have a new link. I hope this works. Deadline for upload is tomorrow.

I blame DM. He's usually behind this sort of crap.
That being said, my film is now in the hands of the BIFF.
