How auspicious.
The lightning was spectacular. The icy hail was slippery, especially for old moms.
My mom just lost a tooth. I don't think it's krakens. She has really bad teeth now. She is totally unperturbed by this. I'm just glad she's doing okay so far.

I lost a filling Monday. Haven't pursued it with the dentist yet.
I figure a fever is a deal-breaker.
Glad it wasn't a whole tooth like your mom.

It was a front upper incisor. She's got so few teeth left. She uses dentures. Her dentist keeps trying to convince her to get implants but my mom doesn't want to do surgery and after all she's been through, I don't blame her. She can do fine eating soft stuff.

I retired from teaching when my kid was born. I taught at special workshops but it’s been about a decade since then. I’ve been thinking of returning to teaching during the pandemic.
Did you just say ‘I’m a teacher’ in your application? Did you have to show any proof?

When I signed up online, there were no questions about eligibility at all. (I went to the Levi's stadium page because it was before 2/28; if you went to the main page it asked if you were 75 and if you said no it bounced you.) About the same time, I got an email from the provost saying that when we went, we would need to show our university ID and a current pay stub to verify current employment. No one asked to see them.

Last night was probably the worst I've felt. LCF had arranged to do a ZOOM watch of Jeopardy with scattered relatives. It was a great idea, but I just couldn't get into it. We even ZOOMed us giving Halvah fluids, which was nerve-wracking. So many little steps to take to ensure no contamination.
It was a very rough night. My body was threatening to shut down on basic functions. You know, eat, drink, piss, poop. I got up so many times, sometimes every few minutes. I wasn't getting any flow at times. I was starting to wonder if I'd need to go to the emergency room. I'd sit there staring down for long minutes pleading for a yellow river.
At daybreak, still feeling terrible, I got up and around, fed Halvah who as usual chose to take her breakfast on the kitchen counter next to the sink, and finally things started moving.
I'm feeling really good right now.
Just to recap. After the 2nd Moderna, I was fine for about a day, then I had two rather miserable days.

My mom, like Stacy, is experiencing no side effects beyond a sore arm. And for this, I'm very grateful.
It'll probably kick my ass, if I ever get one. But man, vax FOMO is real.

Ask and you shall receive. I'm getting my Fauci ouchy tomorrow. I have a lot of comorbidities that qualify me. Lucky, I guess. They just started the vaccinations at the Fresno Kaiser and had plenty of slots open.
