There is a line of smoke that wasn't there last night. I saw several giant plumes of black smoke that usually indicates structures burning. fuck RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 07-12-2021 It continues to creep closer. We are judging the distance by the white house to the North. It seems like the fire is in the backyard of the white house at this point. Current temperature here is 104º 4:10pm RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 07-12-2021 Part of the problem is that no one told the River Fire it is supposed to move east with the wind. I keep seeing more fire to the west end of the blaze. I fear the white house to the north of us is about to burn. RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Drunk Monk - 07-12-2021 Yikes. RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 07-12-2021 !!!!!!!!!! RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Drunk Monk - 07-12-2021 I am glued to your facebook feed Greg. Not just for this but for the wonderful photo albums. Hope you can get some sleep tonight and that the fire is under control when you wake. RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 07-13-2021 Things are going great! Actually, they are. This was a photo I took last night before going to bed. I zoomed in a lot. This morning, none of those flames were visible. Just a lot of smoke. I feel a lot better. ![]() RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Drunk Monk - 07-13-2021 Scary to see but good to hear. Bless our firefighters. RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 07-13-2021 Fun Fact: The current River Fire is burning in the same footprint as the 1961 Harlon Fire. People around these parts still talk about the Harlon Fire. It was probably one of the first stories I heard from the locals. Why do they still talk about the Harlon Fire, I hear you ask? 20,000 acres burned in just 2 hours. RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Drunk Monk - 07-13-2021 When was the Harlon fire? RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 07-13-2021 I should live so long. But yes, 1961. The wind must have been whipping. That's two fires within a couple of miles of the house this year and we still aren't into prime fire season. I no longer wonder why people can't get Fire Insurance up here in the hills. |
